Chapter 10 - The Tomorrow They Created

Three weeks after the wedding.

Inside the quiet, sunlit nursery of the Gold Coast estate, soft wind chimes tinkled outside the open window.

Mara sat in a plush rocking chair wearing a comfortable white cardigan, holding a tiny, beautiful newborn baby wrapped in a soft blue blanket.

A baby boy with dark hair and bright, alert gray eyes.

Gabriel stood behind the chair, leaning down, resting his chin gently against Mara’s head, his large hand gently stroking the baby’s tiny cheek.

“He has your eyes, Gabriel,” Mara whispered happily, looking down at their son.

“He has your courage, Mara,” Gabriel replied softly, kissing her temple. “What should we name him?”

Mara looked at the small black onyx ring hanging around her neck, then up at her husband.

“Leo,” Mara said softly. “Leo Gabriel Vance. The wolf beneath three stars.”

Gabriel smiled warmly, reaching down to pick up his infant son, cradling him securely against his chest.

The feared billionaire who had once commanded armies and controlled corporate empires looked down at his child with a heart completely overflowed with peace.

Outside the window, the sun rose brightly over the skyline of Chicago, reflecting off the glittering glass of the city below.
