Chapter 10 - The Rebirth of Westbrook Logistics

Six months later.

The annual New York Logistics & Tech Summit was held in the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel. Over eight hundred industry executives, venture capitalists, and media representatives were in attendance.

Standing at the main keynote podium was me.

I wore an elegant, tailored emerald-green suit. I stood straight, confident, and completely unassisted, my left leg fully healed, leaving only a faint, subtle scar below my knee—a permanent reminder of a battle I had fought and won.

Behind me, a massive digital screen displayed the newly revealed corporate logo: WESTBROOK GLOBAL SUPPLY SYSTEMS.

"Seven years ago," I addressed the silent, attentive audience, "I believed that the best way to lead was from behind the scenes. I believed that staying invisible made me safe. But I learned the hard way that when you allow others to take credit for your work, you give them permission to believe you are replaceable."

Applause rippled softly through the front rows of institutional investors.

"Over the past six months," I continued, "Westbrook Global has expanded our automated freight tracking platform across twelve new international ports. We have increased our quarterly revenue by one hundred and forty percent, fully satisfied all legacy corporate debts, and established the Westbrook Foundation—a $5 million endowment dedicated to providing legal and financial assistance to victims of domestic abuse."

The room erupted into a deafening, standing ovation.

As I stepped down from the podium, David Sterling and James Vance met me at the side of the stage, raising their champagne glasses in a warm toast.

"To the real architect of the empire," David Sterling said with a warm, genuine smile.

"To Claire Westbrook," James agreed, clinking his glass against mine.

I took a sip of champagne, looking around the brilliant, glowing ballroom filled with people who respected my mind, my leadership, and my vision.

My phone chimed quietly in my blazer pocket.

It was a automated system alert from my private security network, confirming that the final legal transfers of the old Mercer property assets had been completed, and that the name 'Mercer Logistics' had been officially dissolved and erased from all public corporate registries nationwide.

I turned off the phone screen, slipped it back into my pocket, and walked toward the center of the ballroom to greet my new international partners.

I had spent years living in the shadows of men who thought they could break me.

Now, I was standing in the light—and my empire was just getting started.
