Chapter 10 - The Horizon Ahead

One year after the wedding night.
The sun was setting over the Pacific Ocean, painting the sky in deep shades of gold, violet, and crimson.
Valeria stood on the broad terrace of her private estate overlooking the cliffs of Punta Mita.
The ocean breeze carried the cool scent of salt water, rustling the palms along the stone paths.
She held a glass of sparkling water, watching the waves crash against the white rocks below.
Behind her, the glass doors opened, and Eduardo Silva walked out onto the terrace, carrying a small leather file.
“The annual report for the foundation is finalized,” Eduardo said, standing beside her at the wooden railing. “Over twelve thousand women were assisted in our first four quarters. Every shelter is fully operational.”
Valeria smiled, looking out at the horizon. “That is the best news I’ve heard all year, Eduardo.”
Eduardo looked at her, his expression filled with deep, warm respect. “You’ve built something truly remarkable, Valeria. Not just a financial empire, but a legacy that will last long after we’re gone.”
“I didn't build it alone,” Valeria said gently, turning to look at him. “I built it because I stopped hiding.”
She looked down at her right hand—free of rings, free of guilt, and free of the fear that had once made her hide her true self from the world.
She realized now that hiding her strength had not been an act of humility; it had been an act of fear. She had believed that showing her true power would push love away.
Now she knew that real love never demands that a woman make herself smaller so a man can feel bigger.
“What’s next for Horizonte Capital?” Eduardo asked with a faint smile.
Valeria took a sip of her water, turning her gaze back toward the vast, open ocean ahead.

“We expand,” Valeria said, her clear green eyes reflecting the golden light of the setting sun. “We build more, we protect more, and we keep moving forward.”
As the darkness of the evening gave way to a sky filled with brilliant, clear stars, Valeria stood tall against the ocean wind, entirely whole, entirely free, and master of her own unbroken destiny.
