Chapter 10 - The Sovereign Pack

One year later.

The grand dining room of the Corso Restorante glittered under its crystal chandeliers, just as it had the night Naomi Rivers first walked through its doors carrying a tray of highball glasses.

Tonight, however, the restaurant was completely closed to the public.

The marble floors were cleared, replaced by long, elegant banquet tables decorated with white orchids and shimmering silver candles. Fifty of the most influential figures in North American business and logistics sat at the tables, speaking in hushed, respectful tones.

At the head table sat Belvin Santoro, his dark hair immaculately styled, wearing a custom velvet tuxedo.

To his right sat Naomi Rivers—now Naomi Santoro—wearing a breathtaking emerald silk gown that accentuated her warm eyes and radiant confidence. On her left sat Maya, looking vibrant, healthy, and full of life, currently chatting animatedly with Leo about her first semester at Columbia University.

And lying quietly between Belvin and Naomi’s chairs, wearing a custom black leather collar studded with small emeralds, was Titan.

The dog was completely relaxed, his chin resting comfortably on Naomi’s gown, his dark eyes calmly scanning the room without a single trace of tension or aggression. He was a symbol of absolute peace—a lethal force transformed by patience, understanding, and love.

Marco, the floor manager who had once warned Naomi not to make sudden movements, approached the head table carrying a bottle of vintage champagne. His hands still shook slightly as he poured the sparkling liquid into Belvin and Naomi’s crystal flutes, but his smile was genuine.

"An exceptional evening, Mrs. Santoro," Marco said deferentially.

"Thank you, Marco," Naomi smiled warmly. "The service was flawless."

Belvin stood up, raising his champagne glass. The entire room went dead silent instantly, fifty powerful men and women hanging on his every word.

"One year ago," Belvin began, his voice deep and resonance carrying easily across the hall, "I walked into this restaurant believing that power was defined by how many enemies you could eliminate. I believed that fear was the only currency that mattered."

He looked down at Naomi, his eyes brimming with a soft, fierce devotion that made her heart skip a beat.

"I was wrong," Belvin continued softly. "Real power isn't built on fear. It is built on loyalty. It is built on protecting those who cannot protect themselves. And above all, it is built on finding the one person who looks at your darkest shadows and chooses to stay."

He raised his glass higher. "To my wife, Naomi. The woman who saved my dog, saved my life, and built our pack."

The room erupted into enthusiastic applause. Glasses clinked across the hall as toasts were made to the sovereign couple of Manhattan.

Belvin sat down, immediately taking Naomi’s hand under the table, lacing his fingers tightly through hers.

"Happy anniversary, my love," Belvin whispered, leaning over to kiss her cheek softly.

Naomi turned her head, pressing her lips against his, feeling the warmth and safety of the life they had built together. She looked down at Titan, who gave a quiet, contented sigh and rested his heavy head across both of their feet, anchoring them together.

In doing so, she had tamed the monster, conquered the shadows, and found a love that was truly untamed.
