Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Bond

Late that night, after the grand gala had concluded and the guests had departed, Declan and Narin returned to the fully restored Graham mansion.

The main hall had been completely rebuilt, the glass replaced, and the dark wood paneling restored to a warm, brilliant shine.

Hand in hand, they rolled down the quiet, warm corridor toward the second-floor library.

A roaring fire crackled in the massive stone fireplace, casting soft orange light across the room.

Declan rolled his chair up to the grand window looking out over the snow-covered gardens, gazing at the moonlight reflecting off the lake.

Narin walked up behind him, setting her hands softly on his shoulders, leaning down to rest her cheek against his hair.

Declan reached up, placing his warm hand over hers, pulling her around so she stood beside his chair.

“Narin,” he said softly, his voice filled with an emotion so deep it made the air around them still.

He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small black velvet ring box.

He opened it, revealing a stunning, flawless three-carat oval diamond ring that caught the flickering firelight, glowing like a tiny star.

“Three months ago, you told me you wouldn't leave because you had rent to pay,” Declan whispered, looking up into her dark, shining eyes with absolute devotion. “Tonight, I want to ask you to stay for the rest of your life.”

He looked down at his chair, then back up at her, his expression raw and completely honest. “I cannot walk beside you, Narin. But I promise to love you, protect you, and stand by you with everything I am until my very last breath.”

Tears of pure happiness overflowed from Narin’s eyes, sparkling like diamonds on her cheeks.

She knelt down beside his chair, taking his face in her warm hands, looking straight into his heart.

“I never needed you to walk beside me, Declan,” Narin whispered, her voice choked with deep love. “You’ve been holding me up since the day we met.”

She leaned up and pressed her lips firmly against his.

It was a soft, passionate, and profound kiss that sealed their long journey—sweeping away the memory of broken glass, bitter pain, and cold nights, uniting two souls who had found their home in each other’s arms.

Declan slid the diamond ring onto her finger, pulling her into a tight, warm embrace as the snow fell softly outside the window, wrapping the estate in a blanket of quiet, everlasting peace.
