Chapter 10 - Silent Power

Back in the city, the warm night air blew gently across the private balcony of the Vance Manor penthouse suite.
Sadi stood at the railing, looking out over the glittering skyline of the city below. The high-rise buildings sparkled like diamonds against the dark velvet sky, a vast sea of light and life stretching out to the horizon.
Roman stepped out onto the balcony behind her, holding two glasses of red wine. He wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her back against his chest as he handed her a glass.
“What are you thinking about?” Roman asked softly, his lips resting against her hair.
Sadi took a slow sip of the wine, watching the distant lights of the city.
“I was thinking about power,” she said quietly.
Roman tilted his head, listening. “And what did you conclude?”
Sadi turned in his arms, looking up into the icy blue eyes of the man who had reshaped her destiny—the ghost of the city, the man who had torn down an entire empire simply because someone had bruised her knee.
“I used to think power was about raising your voice,” Sadi whispered, touching his cheek with her soft fingers. “I thought it was about making people fear you, about wearing expensive suits and kicking people when they were down.”
Roman watched her intently, his hand resting securely against her waist.
“But real power isn't loud,” Sadi continued, a serene, unbreakable smile touching her lips. “Real power is knowing that no matter how hard the world tries to break you, you have the strength to stand back up... and the love to protect what truly matters.”

Roman smiled—a deep, rare warmth flooding his handsome features. He leaned down, pressing his lips to hers in a slow, passionate kiss that sealed out the noise of the world below.
Around them, the quiet night held the city in absolute stillness. The ghosts of the past were gone, dissolved into the rain and the wind. And high above the marble streets, wrapped in silent power and unyielding love, Sadi Vance was finally home.
