Chapter 10 - The Mafia Billionaire’s Bride

One year later.

The sun shone brightly over the rolling hills of the Moretti private estate, bathing the vast green lawns and blooming rose gardens in warm golden light. A grand white canopy was erected near the lake, decorated with thousands of white orchids and fragrant jasmine.

Seated beneath the canopy were two hundred guests—dignitaries, governors, world-renowned doctors, and burn survivors whose lives had been transformed by the Lucia Moretti Memorial Trust.

At the front of the altar stood Vincent Moretti.

He looked impossibly handsome in a pristine black tuxedo, his hair neatly styled, his jaw square and strong. Yet, he was visibly nervous, his long fingers adjusting his cuffs as he kept his eyes locked on the end of the white carpet aisle.

Beside him stood his head of security, Marcus, serving as his best man, smiling softly at his boss’s uncharacteristic restlessness.

The string quartet began to play a breathtaking, slow rendition of a classic wedding march.

The crowd stood up in unison.

At the end of the aisle, holding the arm of Eleanor Moretti, stood Clara Vance.

She was a vision of absolute, triumphant beauty.

Clara wore a custom-designed, off-the-shoulder gown of rich ivory satin that celebrated her magnificent, voluptuous curves with breathtaking elegance. The bodice was encrusted with subtle, glittering pearls, flowing into a dramatic, sweeping train that glided across the carpet. Her asymmetrical neckline proudly showcased her shoulder—and there, framed by delicate lace, was her burn scar. She no longer wore high collars. She no longer hid. The scar was part of her story, part of her bravery, and part of the reason she stood here today.

Her dark hair was styled in an intricate updo, secured with a diamond tiara that had belonged to the Moretti family for generations. Around her neck hung the silver locket that had restored her life.

As she began to walk down the aisle, her green eyes locked onto Vincent’s.

Vincent felt his breath leave his chest entirely. Tears gathered at the corners of his hazel eyes—tears of pure, unadulterated devotion. He saw the woman who had survived the flames, who had endured twenty years of isolation, who had been humiliated as a maid, and who had risen to become a powerful, beloved leader and the absolute ruler of his heart.

When Eleanor brought Clara to the altar, she gently placed Clara’s hand into Vincent’s.

“Take care of her, Vincent,” Eleanor whispered with a radiant smile. “She saved our family twice.”

“With my life, Mom,” Vincent answered softly.

He took Clara’s hand, holding her soft, bandaged-scar-free palms, pulling her close.

“You are breathtaking, Clara,” Vincent whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.

Clara smiled up at him, her heart overflowing with a joy so profound it wiped away every tear she had ever shed in the dark. “And you are late with your vows, Mr. Moretti.”

Vincent chuckled softly, turning to face the priest.

The ceremony was beautiful, short, and filled with genuine emotion. When it came time for the vows, Vincent looked directly into Clara’s green eyes, holding both of her hands tightly in his.

“Clara,” Vincent said, his deep voice carrying clearly over the silent lake. “Nineteen years ago, you walked into a hell of fire for a child you didn't know. You lost your past so that my family could have a future. For twenty years, the world failed to see the treasure that you are. But fate brought you back to me.”

He tightened his grip on her hands, his hazel eyes burning with fierce, eternal conviction.

“I promise to love you, honor you, and protect you,” Vincent declared. “I promise to worship every curve of your body, every scar on your skin, and every piece of your beautiful soul. You will never be invisible. You will never be alone. You are my queen, my heart, and my home.”

Tears spilled down Clara’s cheeks as she spoke her vows.

“Vincent,” Clara said softly, her voice steady and clear. “For twenty years, I walked through the world feeling like a shadow, believing I didn't deserve love or belonging. You showed me that my scars were not a curse, but proof of my strength. You gave me a voice, a home, and a love I never dared to dream of. I am yours, Vincent. Today, tomorrow, and forever.”

“By the power vested in me,” the priest announced with a warm smile, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Vincent didn't wait a single second.

He wrapped his strong arms around Clara’s waist, lifting her voluptuous frame effortlessly into his arms, drawing her completely against his chest, and brought his lips down onto hers in a deep, passionate, possessive kiss that sent the crowd into a thunderous, cheering ovation.

Clara wrapped her arms around his broad neck, holding her husband tightly, giving herself entirely over to the roaring applause, the warm sunshine, and the magnificent future that awaited them.
