Chapter 10 - A NEW BEGINNING

The kiss was electric, filled with weeks of unspoken desire, mutual respect, and fierce devotion.

Francesco held her delicately, as though she were precious glass, yet with a firm strength that anchored her completely. Faith wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, yielding completely to the warmth of his embrace.

When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting against each other in the dim light of the library.

“I love you, Faith,” Francesco whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “I think I have loved you since the moment I picked you up out of the freezing rain.”

Faith smiled, a tear of pure happiness slipping down her cheek. “I love you too, Francesco. You saved me.”

“No,” Francesco corrected gently, kissing her forehead. “You saved yourself when you chose to walk away from a toxic life. I simply carried you home.”

Six months later, the spring morning sun lit up the grand conservatory of the Moretti estate.

Flowers were blooming everywhere, filling the air with a sweet, vibrant fragrance. The heavy rainstorms of November were a distant memory, replaced by the warm, gentle breezes of May.

Faith stood by the window, wearing a soft ivory dress. Her hair was styled in soft waves, falling over her shoulders. On her finger rested a stunning, classic ring—not a loud statement of wealth, but an elegant symbol of enduring devotion.

Francesco walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked gently, watching the morning light dance on her skin.

“I was thinking about that night in the alley,” Faith admitted softly, leaning back against his broad chest. “How close I was to giving up. If you hadn't come down that street...”

“Fate brought us together, Faith,” Francesco said firmly, kissing her cheek. “You belong here. With me.”

Faith turned in his arms, wrapping her hands around his waist and looking up at his handsome, contented face.

Her life had transformed completely. She continued her fulfilling work at Mount Sinai Hospital, heading a specialized pediatric cardiac care initiative that Francesco’s foundation had fully funded. She had her independence, her passion, and a purpose.

And when her long shifts ended, she no longer returned to an empty, terrifying apartment or an arrogant partner who diminished her worth.

She returned to a home built on unwavering loyalty, protected by a man who cherished her above all else.

“Let’s go down to the hospital,” Faith said with a bright smile, taking his hand. “The new pediatric ward opens today.”

Francesco smiled—a genuine, warm expression reserved only for her. He laced his fingers with hers, holding her hand firmly.

“Lead the way, my love,” Francesco said softly.

Together, they walked out of the conservatory into the bright morning light, ready to face whatever the future held, side by side.
