Chapter 10 - The Sovereign Legacy

One month later, sunset over the bay painted the sky in shades of gold and deep purple.
Elena stood on the grand balcony of the Moretti estate, looking out over the water. Below, the city was alive with light, stretching from the financial towers down to the busy commercial docks.
Dante stepped out onto the balcony, holding a black leather briefcase. He set it on the marble table between them and popped the silver latches.
Inside were the master deeds, stock certificates, and governance documents for the entirety of Moretti Enterprises.
"Everything is signed," Dante said softly. "Fifty percent of the entire empire is officially under your name. You are Co-CEO of the holding firm."
Elena looked down at the documents, feeling the weight of the moment. "Dante... twenty years ago, our father's empire was built in the dark. If we are going to run this together, every dollar must be clean, every business legitimate, and every worker protected."
Dante smiled—a genuine, peaceful smile that reached his pale eyes. "That is why I gave you the pen, Elena. I built the walls to keep us safe. Now you build the future."
Elena reached out, her fingers running over the smooth leather of the briefcase. She unclasped her silver locket, held it up to the fading sunlight, and looked at the photograph of the two children sitting by the dragon fountain.
She was no longer lost. She was no longer invisible.

Elena closed the locket with a firm, clear click that sounded like victory, placing it over her heart where it belonged.
"Come on, Dante," Elena said, stepping back toward the warm light of the mansion. "We have an empire to run."
