Chapter 9 - THE BIRTH OF A LUNA

Tears spilled over Abigail’s lashes, glistening like diamonds under the crystal chandeliers.

She looked down at Lawson—the feared Alpha King of the Northern Territories, a man who commanded thousands of warriors, kneeling in total humility before her.

Beside them, Finn jumped down from his chair, scampering over and wrapping his little arms around both their necks.

"Say yes, Mama!" Finn giggled happily, his bright golden eyes shining with joy.

Abigail let out a tearful laugh, looking back into Lawson’s burning golden gaze.

"Yes," Abigail whispered softly. "Yes, Lawson. I will."

Lawson let out a triumphant roar that shook the very foundations of Obsidian Ridge. He slid the glowing Luna ring onto her finger, stood up, and pulled Abigail into his arms, lifting her off her feet and kissing her deeply in front of the entire royal court.

The High Council Hall exploded into wild, deafening celebration.

Generals slammed their fists against their shields, lords cheered, and Beta Gideon raised his glass high into the air.

"All hail High Luna Abigail!" Gideon shouted at the top of his lungs. "All hail the Royal Family!"

"ALL HAIL LUNA ABIGAIL!" the two hundred lords echoed in unison.

Three months later.

The grand coronation and royal wedding took place under a clear, starlit sky in the central courtyard of Obsidian Ridge.

Thousands of pack members from across the Northern Alliance gathered to celebrate. The courtyard was decorated with millions of blooming Moon-Lilies, fillilng the night air with a sweet, magical scent.

Abigail stood at the altar wearing a gown of woven silver thread, a crown of white gold and black diamonds resting atop her braided hair.

Lawson stood beside her, clad in magnificent crimson and gold dress armor, his eyes never leaving her face for a single second.

High Priestess Lyra stepped forward, placing her hands over their joined palms.

"By the power of the Moon Goddess," Lyra declared, "and by the blood bond of the Northern Alliance, I pronounce Lawson Cross and Abigail Foster as mated Alpha and High Luna, forever bound in soul and spirit!"

A wave of pure, silver magic erupted from their joined hands, shooting up into the night sky and forming a giant glowing wolf constellation above the fortress.

The pack howl that followed was a glorious, harmonious roar that carried across the entire mountain range—a song of strength, peace, and rebirth.

During the reception that followed, Abigail sat on the garden terrace, watching Finn play tag with the young beta pups under the watchful eye of Beta Gideon.

Lawson walked up behind her, wrapping his massive arms around her waist and pulling her back against his broad chest.

"What are you thinking, my Luna?" Lawson murmured into her ear, kissing the soft skin of her neck.

"I’m thinking about the day I walked into that nursery," Abigail smiled, resting her head back against his shoulder. "I was just a scared refugee looking for a place to hide."

"And you ended up saving us all," Lawson whispered, placing his hand over her stomach.

He suddenly paused.

His golden eyes widened as his Alpha senses caught a subtle, incredibly faint second heartbeat beneath her skin.

Lawson turned her around in his arms, staring at her in absolute shock and wonder.

"Abi..." Lawson rasped, his voice trembling. "Are you...?"

Abigail smiled—a radiant, beautiful expression—and placed her hand over his.

"Finn is going to be a big brother," she confirmed softly. "Twins."

Lawson dropped to his knees, burying his face against her stomach, letting out a breathy, joyful laugh that warmed the cold night air.
