Chapter 10 - The Seventh Dress

The grand dining hall of the Serrano estate was illuminated by massive crystal chandeliers, casting a warm, radiant glow over the fifty guests seated around the long banquet tables.

Laughter and light instrumental music filled the air. The atmosphere, once tense and cold under Matteo's looming shadow, had transformed into a celebration of new leadership.

At the center of the main table sat Dominic and Isabella.

Isabella wore her deep plum velvet gown with pride. The deep purple hue shone brilliantly under the chandelier lights. She sat beside Dominic, her posture regal, her smile brilliant as she chatted warmly with Uncle Lorenzo and his wife.

No one looked at her with judgment. No one whispered insults behind their hands. The guests stared at her with admiration, recognizing the incredible strength and dignity she had displayed throughout the evening's events.

Dominic leaned over, resting his hand softly on the back of her chair. "How are you holding up, my love?"

Isabella turned to him, her brown eyes shining with happiness. "I've never felt better, Dominic. For the first time since we got married, I feel like I'm finally home."

Dominic smiled—a real, genuine smile that reached his eyes. He reached into his tuxedo jacket and pulled out a small, velvet-lined jewelry box.

Isabella raised an eyebrow. "Another gift? Dominic, I think seven dresses is quite enough for one week."

"This isn't a dress," he murmured softly.

He opened the box. Inside was a stunning necklace featuring a flawless, rare purple diamond suspended on a delicate platinum chain. It matched the exact shade of her plum gown.

"I had this custom-cut months ago," Dominic whispered, leaning in so only she could hear. "I was waiting for the right moment to give it to you. A dress can be returned, Bella. But this... this is forever."

Isabella felt a warmth spread through her entire chest. She turned her back slightly so he could clasp the necklace around her throat. The cool diamond rested perfectly against her skin, completing her look.

She turned back to face him, leaning in close until their lips were just inches apart.

"Thank you, Dominic," she whispered. "For always seeing me, even when I was trying to hide."

"I will always see you, Bella," Dominic replied, his voice thick with emotion. "You are my heart. My home. My absolute equal."

He leaned in and kissed her deeply, right there in front of the entire Serrano family. A soft round of applause broke out around the dining hall, led by Uncle Lorenzo and surprisingly, Celeste, who smiled through her tears from the far end of the table.

When Dominic pulled back, he held her hand tightly in his, their fingers intertwined.

Isabella looked down at her plum gown, then around the magnificent hall, and finally back into the eyes of the man who loved her beyond measure. The threats were gone. The fear was gone.

She had found her voice, reclaimed her strength, and proved to the world that she belonged right beside him—now and forever.
