Chapter 10 - Cedar Veil
Six months later.
The evening sun was setting over the rolling hills of Cedar Veil Estate, casting long, golden shadows across the lush green vineyards.
A soft breeze rustled through the leaves of the hundred-year-old oak trees surrounding the stone manor. There were no flashing cameras, no wealthy investors in tuxedos, and no pretentious speeches under French chandeliers.
Instead, a long wooden dining table was set up on the outdoor stone terrace overlooking the valley.
Seated around the table were the local vineyard workers, the restoration crew, Marcus Vance, and several local farming families. Laughter and lively conversation echoed across the terrace as platters of fresh, farm-to-table food and estate-grown organic wine were passed around.
At the head of the table sat Claire and I.
Claire looked breathtaking in a simple, elegant ivory linen dress, her hair flowing naturally around her shoulders. On her left hand, the silver wedding band gleamed under the warm sunset light.
She leaned over, placing her hand gently over mine resting on the table.
"Look at this place," Claire murmured softly, her green eyes shining with quiet peace and deep happiness. "It feels alive again."
"It feels like home," I replied, turning my hand over to intertwine my fingers with hers.
Marcus raised his glass from down the table, catching my eye with a warm, knowing smile. "To Cedar Veil! And to the real foundations that hold it together!"
"To Cedar Veil!" the crew cheered, raising their glasses into the evening air.
Claire turned to me, leaning in close, her lips brushing softly against my cheek before meeting my mouth in a slow, sweet, and deeply affectionate kiss.

"Thank you, Daniel," she whispered against my lips, her arms wrapping gently around my neck as the golden light filled the valley. "Thank you for not giving up on me."
I held her close against my chest, looking out over the 468 acres of land that belonged to us—not because of money, power, or titles, but because of love, hard work, and the truth that had finally set us free.
