Chapter 10 - The New Era

Six months later.
The city of Graybridge had entered a new era of unprecedented peace and prosperity.
The Wolf Syndicate had completely restructured its operations, moving out of illegal street activities and into legitimate international logistics, green energy, and maritime infrastructure under the brilliant strategic guidance of Norah Blake.
It was a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon at Blackwood Estate.
The grand lawn overlooking the ocean was decorated with hundreds of white lilies and silver arches. Two hundred guests—city officials, maritime directors, dock supervisors, and staff—filled the white chairs.
At the altar stood Gideon Wolf, looking impeccably handsome in a tailored black tuxedo.
Beside him stood Arthur, wearing a proud smile as the best man.
The music shifted to a grand, triumphant melody.
Every guest stood up.
Walking down the aisle on the arm of Dr. Mercer—who had stayed on as the estate’s personal physician out of deep gratitude—was Norah.
She was breathtaking.
Her wedding gown was a masterpiece of cream satin and delicate lace, fitted beautifully to her figure, with a flowing train that swept gracefully across the green grass. Her brown hair was styled into romantic waves, crowned by a delicate diamond tiara.
In her hands, she carried a bouquet of white roses.
As she reached the altar, Gideon stepped down to take her hand. His dark eyes were filled with tears of pure, overwhelming emotion as he looked at his bride.
“You look like a dream, Norah,” Gideon whispered, lifting her fingers to his lips.
“I’m real, Gideon,” she smiled softly, her eyes shining with happiness.
The priest began the ceremony, speaking of strength, loyalty, and the extraordinary journey that had brought two people from entirely different worlds together.
When the vows were exchanged, Gideon held both of her hands tightly in his.
“Norah,” Gideon said, his deep voice thick with emotion. “When twelve doctors told me I was going to die, you saw life. You brought light into my dark world, you protected my people, and you taught me that true power isn't built on fear—it is built on trust.”
He looked into her green eyes with absolute devotion.
“I give you my life, my heart, and my empire, forever.”
Tears of pure joy ran down Norah’s cheeks as she spoke her vows.
“Gideon,” Norah said softly. “I used to think my life was meant to be lived in the background, quiet and hidden. You saw me when no one else did. You gave me a voice, a home, and a love deeper than I ever thought possible. I promise to stand by you, to protect you, and to love you for all the days of my life.”
“I now pronounce you husband and wife!” the priest announced loudly. “You may kiss the bride!”
Gideon didn't wait a single second.
He wrapped his strong arms around Norah’s waist, pulled her close against his chest, and brought his lips down onto hers in a deep, passionate, uncompromising kiss.
The crowd erupted into thunderous, joyful applause.
That evening, as twilight painted the sky over Graybridge in shades of gold and purple, Gideon and Norah stood together on the grand terrace where they had once fought for their lives.
Gideon wrapped his arms around her from behind, pulling her back against his broad chest as they looked out over the quiet beauty of the estate.
In her hand, Norah held a crystal glass filled with clear, sparkling water.
She looked at the rim, clean and spotless under the evening light.
“No pink rings,” Gideon murmured against her ear, smiling softly.

Norah turned her head, kissing his cheek warmly.
“No pink rings,” she agreed with a happy laugh. “Just forever.”
