Chapter 10 - The Horizon of Light

One year later.
A gentle summer breeze swept over the Mediterranean coast of Amalfi, Italy. High above the azure blue waters, a cliffside villa built from white stone overlooked the endless ocean. Terraced lemon groves cascaded down the hillside, filling the warm air with a sweet, vibrant citrus fragrance.
On the grand marble terrace of the villa, a small, intimate wedding reception was taking place under a canopy of fresh white roses and olive branches.
Only thirty people were present—close friends, trusted allies like Renato, and fellow art restorers from Florence. There were no mob bosses, no bodyguards with visible shoulder holsters, and no shadows of the past.
Sophia stood near the terrace railing, looking out at the sparkling sea. She wore a stunning, minimalist lace wedding dress that flowed around her feet like water. Her dark hair was styled in soft waves, woven with small white sprigs of jasmine.
Luciano stepped out onto the terrace, wearing an immaculate linen tuxedo. He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, pulling her back against his chest, resting his chin comfortably on her shoulder.
"Thinking about Chicago?" Luciano asked softly, kissing her temple.
"No," Sophia smiled, resting her hands over his arms. "I was thinking about how bright the world looks from here."
"No darkness?" he teased gently.
Sophia turned in his arms, looking up into the eyes of the man who had once been her captor, but had become her husband, her protector, and her greatest love.
"No darkness," she affirmed softly, reaching up to gently trace the line of his jaw. "Just light."

In the distance, the sun began to set over the Mediterranean, painting the sky in breathtaking shades of gold, crimson, and lavender.
Luciano pulled her close, pressing his lips to hers as the gentle waves crashed softly against the ancient rocks below. Hand in hand, they stood together on the cliffside, stepping forward into a future built not on blood or vengeance, but on truth, redemption, and an everlasting love that had survived the storm.
