Chapter 10 - A New Dawn

The dining room returned to peaceful quiet.

Kane let out a quiet breath, turning his aura off completely. He walked back to Harper, his expression instantly shifting from terrifying ruler to gentle, attentive partner.

Harper looked up at him, a subtle smile playing on her lips. "Queen of the Northern Territory? That sounds like a lot of paperwork."

Kane laughed—a deep, rich sound that filled the entire room with warmth. He reached down, grasping her hands, and pulled her gently up from her chair into his arms.

"You've been doing the paperwork for an entire pack for five years without credit," Kane whispered, pulling her close against his chest. "Now you’ll have an empire, and an army to enforce every command you give."

Harper rested her hands against his broad chest, feeling the steady, powerful thud of his heart underneath her palms. The quiet calm that had drawn them together wrapped around them both, solid and unbreakable.

"My father is going to be furious," Harper noted softly, leaning up to press her cheek against his chest.

"Let him try," Kane growled playfully into her hair. "I’ll handle your father. You focus on building your home."

He gently tipped her chin up with his long fingers. For a moment, the King and the girl who saved him simply looked at each other—two lonely souls who had spent years fighting battles alone, finally finding peace in the middle of the storm.

Kane leaned down and brushed his lips against hers in a slow, deep, promising kiss that sealed their bond far stronger than any contract ever written.

Outside, the storm had finally passed. The dark clouds rolled away over the Pacific Ocean, allowing brilliant, warm golden sunlight to flood through the glass walls, illuminating the new reign of the Alpha King and the Queen who broke his silence.
