Chapter 10 - A NEW BEGINNING

Six months later.
The summer sun shone brightly over the grand estate, illuminating the lush green lawns and sparkling fountains that surrounded Vale Manor. The shattered chapel had been completely restored, transformed into a beautiful, peaceful sanctuary adorned with white roses and vibrant gardens.
The Moretti syndicate had been completely dismantled following Dominic’s death, leaving Adrian Vale as the undisputed, absolute leader of the region. But inside the walls of the mansion, the violent world of the mafia seemed a million miles away.
On the grand back terrace overlooking the valley, Clara sat in a comfortable plush chair, wearing a simple yellow summer dress.
Nearby, seven-month-old Noah was sitting on a soft blanket, playing happily with a set of wooden blocks. He was a healthy, chubby, and joyful baby, his bright blue eyes full of life and curiosity.
Adrian walked out onto the terrace, wearing a relaxed white linen shirt and trousers. Gone was the perpetually cold, stern expression he used to carry; in its place was a look of serene, quiet contentment.
He walked over to Noah, picking up his son effortlessly and tossing him gently into the air, making the infant burst into a fit of adorable, ringing giggles.
"Look at you," Clara said with a warm smile, setting down her cup of tea. "The most feared man in the city, reduced to a playmate for a seven-month-old."
Adrian sat down beside Clara, setting Noah gently on his lap. "I am only feared by those who wish harm upon my family. In this house, I am just a father... and a husband."
He reached out, placing his hand gently over Clara’s hand. Clara leaned her head against his shoulder, watching the beautiful landscape stretched out before them.
"Did Dr. Brooks give you the medical report from the morning checkup?" Adrian asked softly.
Clara smiled, a subtle blush coloring her cheeks. She took Adrian’s hand and slowly moved it down, placing it over her flat stomach.
"He did," Clara whispered, her eyes shining with happiness. "He said everything is perfectly healthy. In seven months, Noah is going to be a big brother."
Adrian froze, his eyes widening in complete shock and overwhelming joy. He looked down at her stomach, then up into Clara’s radiant eyes.
"Are you... are you sure?" Adrian asked, his voice trembling slightly with an emotion he had never felt before.
"I’m sure, Adrian," Clara said, tears of happiness brimming in her eyes. "We're going to have a baby girl."
Adrian pulled Clara into a deep, loving embrace, kissing her tenderly on the lips while holding Noah tightly in his other arm.

The quiet maid who had once walked into a terrifying nursery with nothing but folded laundry and a gentle lullaby had saved a dying infant, healed a broken man, and built an impenetrable sanctuary of love and loyalty in the heart of darkness.
As the afternoon sun cast a golden glow across the terrace, Noah clapped his tiny hands together, and Clara began to hum her gentle four-note song—a melody that no longer spoke of grief or loss, but of a bright, beautiful family that nothing in this world could ever break.
