Chapter 10 - THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA

One year later.
The summer sun bathed the Vale estate in a warm, golden glow. The dark shadows that had once hovered over the mansion had completely dissipated, replaced by the sounds of joy and children’s laughter echoing through the grand courtyard.
On the spacious stone terrace overlooking the private lake, fourteen-month-old Liam was taking his first wobbly steps across a plush picnic blanket, cheered on by his father.
Liam took three unsteady steps toward Adrian before tumbling forward into his father’s waiting arms. Adrian caught him with a booming laugh, lifting his son high into the air as the toddler giggled with delight.
Elena sat nearby on a comfortable outdoor lounge sofa, wearing a loose yellow sundress, watching her husband and son with a radiant smile.
Adrian set Liam down on the blanket with a set of wooden toys before walking over to sit beside Elena. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close against his side.
“He’s getting faster every day,” Adrian said, watching his son play. “Soon I’ll have to run to keep up with him.”
“He has your energy,” Elena replied with a gentle laugh, resting her head against his shoulder.
Adrian looked down at her, his hand gently resting over her round, pregnant belly. Elena was six months pregnant with their second child—a healthy baby girl confirmed by their private medical team.
“How are you feeling today, my love?” Adrian asked softly, his thumb gently stroking her dress over her bump.
“Wonderful,” Elena whispered, covering his hand with her own. “The baby is kicking again.”
Adrian leaned down, pressing his ear gently against her stomach, feeling the faint, miraculous kicks of his unborn daughter. A look of pure, unadulterated awe spread across his handsome face.
He looked up at Elena, taking her face in his hands and kissing her deeply on the lips.
“You gave me a life I never thought I deserved, Elena,” Adrian said, his voice thick with genuine emotion. “You saved my son, you saved me, and you made this house a home.”
Elena looked into the deep, loving eyes of the man who had once been the city’s most feared legend. She knew that whatever challenges or dangers the future might bring, their love was an impenetrable fortress that nothing in this world could ever destroy.

“We saved each other, Adrian,” Elena whispered back with a beautiful, radiant smile.
As the sun began to set over the rolling hills of the estate, casting long golden light across the water, little Liam toddled back over to them, climbing into his parents’ arms. Together, the Vale family sat in complete, peaceful harmony—a testament to a courage that defied a mafia boss, saved a dying baby, and turned a heartbreak into an everlasting love story.
